Mr. C's Corner

To keep the community of St. Patrick more informed i've created this blog with the help of some very supportive parents. Please become a follower and spread the word to your family and friends. If you have any announcements of your own for our school I would be more than happy to help communicate them.

Track Update from Coach Partridge

It's been a great year of what I'd call "Athletic Development", or "Team Building" as they say in the NFL for the  St Pat's Track Team this year.  We took home a total of 23 - 2nd and 3rd place ribbons; but only 5 times were we 1st. All the kids were in there slugging, but we just had couldn't run quite as fast, or jump quite as far as the athlete in the lead !  We'll wrap up our season on 5/19 with what is termed the "City Meet" at West Catholic High School field starting at 8:00am.  Love to see you there to cheer our kids on !  Here is how the season shaped up so far :

Our Senior Girls Team consisted of Kateri Mills and Lucy Wade, both 7th grade students.

 - Kateri's claim to fame hands down is the 1600 meter run, (aprox one mile)  She began the season with a very commendable 6:21 and brought that down to a 6:00 in her last meet.  Kateri compiled 7 - 2nd place finishes always being edged out by Morgan Benoit.  Kateri's 800m race against Morgan was also always a close contest.  On 4/28 Morgan crossed the finish line at 2:52 with Kateri a quarter step behind at 2:55 !
 - Lucy was our relay girl and did very well in the 400m and 800m relays with her team finishing in 1st place twice and 2nd place once.

Our Senior Boys Team was made up of Alex Richmond and Marc Langlois, both 7th grade students

 - Alex was only able to make one meet, but put his heart into practice and finished 3rd in the 400m relay and 4th in the 400m run.
 - Marc is new to the sport and has put in an excellent effort, with his team coming in 3rd 1 time and 4th the next time in the 800m relay.

Our Junior Girls Team was the largest and the 5th and 6th grades were represented by Erin and Annie Brooks, Maura Fitzpatrick, Lauren Snarski and Elise Marshall

 - Erin finished middle of the pack in most of her runs bringing home a 4th place finish in the 70m run 1st time out and a 1st place ribbon in the high jump
 - Annie did very well in the 800m relay with her team finishing 2nd during the 1st meet and 1st place in our most recent meet
 - Maura managed to keep both of her shoes on so far and brought home 1 - 3rd place, 6 - 2nd place and 1 - 1st place ribbon for the team.  Maura is also 1 that got edged out by fractions of a second in more than one race.  In our first meet she came in 2nd in the 400 with a 1:13:56 to a 1st place finish of 1:13:44....  that's close !  Her first place ribbon last week was for a 15:42 100m run, her best in that event so far.
 - Elise has great distance potential and made good showings in both the 400 and 800 runs and relays.  She brought home 2 - 3rd place finishes.
 - Lauren supported her team real well with good efforts in the 70, 100, 200 and 400 with her best time of 1:30 in the 400m run

Our Junior Boys Team had only one athlete, Malachi Mills, and he held his own very well

 - Malachi placed 2nd and then 4th in the 400m run with a time of 1:13, losing the first place ribbon to a time of 1:10.  He also placed 2 in the 800m run with a time of 2:40

Thank you again for the opportunity to coach your kids and introduce them to the competitive Track and Field.
It has certainly been a pleasure meeting and working with all of them !
